Recently, a man in America insisted on getting a 'pre-nup' before he married his long-term girlfriend.
She wasn't happy but he did it anyway.
It revealed that she had $92,000 of credit card debt.
He cancelled the wedding.
I heard a story about the same thing happening in the UK, to a fictitious man called Joe. Joe would have done the same and cancelled the wedding, but there was process to reveal any such debt and neither she nor her family told him.
However, there was a debt. Three credit cards registered at her sister's house. A debt that she kept alive throughout 12 years of marriage without Joe knowing.
His estimation is that it cost the marriage at least £43,000, but was probably in the region of £60,000.
He was gaslit about why money drained away. He was agreeable and had trusted that his wofe would not be someone who would cause unneccesary long term harm to them trying to raise kids and build a future.
Of course, it's all fictitious because WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT?

It's different for all fictitious people. For some, it's too late. The earlier it comes, the better. But one day, they will come.

If only you'd ever done anything with your kids...
Remember! It's fictitious. Those memories are false.
